The stage turns more and more, the boundaries between reality and imagination and delusion become more and more opaque in the video projections superbly hung by Robi Voigt. – Süddeutsche Zeitung

„All the time. All the time.“ Life is a carousel that is constantly turning. Here someone comes along, words pass by, lights, voices. Life just spins past Woyzeck. „If we went to heaven, we’d have to help thunder,“ he says. Here on earth, however, Woyzeck must first help the doctor with his medical experiments. Every morning he has to go to the captain and help him. He has to go to the barracks. And then there is Marie, whom he loves and with whom he has a child. He should help there too. More than he does. But no matter what he does, it’s never enough. Not for the others, and not for him either.
But there are always voices in Woyzeck’s head. They tell him to do completely different things: The merry-go-round turns faster and faster under a large moon that is red „like a bloody iron“. There is hardly any rest for Woyzeck. But when he comes to rest, there are still these voices, then even the earth whispers in the fields. These voices also tell him about the drum major who is after Marie.
Woyzeck tries to escape. The captain, the doctor and these voices. But they catch up with him. And Marie is caught up by Woyzeck’s jealousy. „Man is an abyss.“
