FOREST BODIES is a series of five large-scale portraits based on photographic material of actors. The images were digitally transformed through layered image processing and early AI-based models, creating hybrid figures between human body, natural organism and technological artifact.

The works move between forest and glitch, organic growth and digital disruption. Leaves, branches, costumes, skin, technical fragments and artificial image structures merge into figures that seem both archaic and futuristic — as if emerging from a natural world already permeated by digital processes.

Originally developed from a performative context, the series translates theatrical presence into autonomous image objects. The frontal figures retain the intensity of portraiture, while their surfaces dissolve into synthetic textures, botanical fragments and visual disturbances.

FOREST BODIES marks an early point in Robi Voigt’s ongoing exploration of bodies, nature and machine-generated image worlds.
